Humberto Siúves

Humberto Siúves is a Partner at UNO and Director of Customs Strategy and Business Market Access. Humberto has considerable experience in maximizing tax benefits, reducing costs and eliminating compliance risks on trade and customs schemes of complex businesses. He has been practicing in the strategic and operational area of international trade for the past 10 years and has worked in Europe, Latin America and Africa. He has significant experience in Brazilian customs special regimes, industrial trade operations, Latin American origin certification and global market access.
Prior to his position at UNO, Humberto worked as the Latin American Regional Customs Supervisor at an American multinational automaker and earned praise for optimizing the firms' operational and tax customs benefits through the production chain. He has also worked as a Legal Affairs Officer at the Market Access Division of the World Trade Organization in Geneva and was responsible for analyzing and drafting legal and economic advisory briefings, technical support and regulatory advice to governments and industries on different aspects of industrial products trade, including customs classification and valuation, rules of origin and trade preference programs.
Humberto holds an Honors LL.M on International and European Trade Law from the University of Amsterdam and has published in the Legal Issues of Economic Integration by Kluwer Law International. In addition to his mother tongue Portuguese, Humberto speaks fluent English and Spanish and has a working knowledge of French.Education
